For the Paws

As a part of the .decimal United program, the four teams competed in an Animal Shelter Donation Drive to see who collected the most items to be donated. Not only was it a great competition, it also had a greater purpose for the community.

Over the course of one month, the teams scoured to collect as many items as they could to donate. In the end, .decimal collected over 200 items including:

  • Four 44lb bags of food
  • 64 cans of food
  • 54 small bags of food
  • 61 bones
  • 330 biscuits
  • 23 ropes
  • 21 toys
  • 10 leashes
  • 25 bowls
  • 30 tennis balls
  • 1 hand made dog bed

.decimal donated all these items to Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando, located in Sanford, Florida. In 2017, Pet Alliance adopted out 6995 homeless dogs and cats. All their animals go through a Shelter Manners program and learn social skills, as well as house training. There are no time or space limitations.

Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando also holds Pet Food Pantry programs, volunteering and hospital services, as well as dog training.

Thank you Pet Alliance, and thank you to Team Committed to Excellence for setting up the drive. Though we do have a competition going on, above all, the real winners are the cats and dogs who are one day going to make a family incredibly happy.
